I have a pair of those AHEAD sticks with the metal core and slip on plastic covers and tips and I am getting really pissed off because the tips keep unscrewing themselves and flying off when I'm playing. I have put different types of glue, bits of plastic, string everything to try and make them tighter but it is no use. Yesterday one tip came off and before I could stop the metal thread had punched a hole through my snare skin. Anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions. Apart from this the sticks are awesome so I want to try and fix it.

if you dont change the covers too often, use a dab of super glue. i think that the package says it actually recommends that.

Go to your local hardware store and get a product called Loctite (pronounced Lock-Tight). It comes in different grades and I don't know the exact one to get. Either way, you apply it to the threads, screw the pieces together, and it hardens up.

Is it possible there is something wrong with that particular pair of sitcks?? I have been playing Aheads for awhile now, and I actually play 3 different sizes (Lars Ulrich sig, Tommy Lee sig studio, and the 7A's). I have had to change the sleeves on only the Ulrich pair, but I have never had any problem with any of them. Wondering if maybe Ahead would let you exchange for a new pair.
