If you can afford some cymbals, go for the Yamaha. If you can't, then save up for some and still buy the Yamaha. If you really can't, go for the Tama.

I've played a few Tama set (owned one). They have a great all around rock sound, from the Swingstar right in up. My old set was a rockstar (93?) and I liked it alot. (you get alot of drum for the money). I have only heard Yamaha drums, and they all have a very different flavor (depending on head choice, of course)

What model are these sets? What is your playing style? Can you afford to shell out approx. $100 for each cymbal? What level zildjians are they? I'm pretty sure you will get sick of that ride (fast)

Get the set that best fits your playing style versus your available funds. keep in mind your upgrades.
