I've got my first paying gig in over 15 years coming this Wed. I'm really pumped! Its only taken 8 months of practice, rehearsal and kissing lots of frogs (auditions with bad bands) to get to this point. I've finally found a great group of musicians. So we shall see.

We do about 1/2 originals, covers include Phish, Dave Matthews, Dylan, Stones...perfect for an old fart like me. The Dave Matthews stuff is really fun and challenging.

I have been listening to Stevie Ray and DD, Elmore James, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Jeff Beck with Terry Bozzio and some other bass guy , John Coltrane, Medeski, Martin and Wood

and the list goes on
