Nice to find some kind of drum related news group on the internet. I'm an English drummer going to L.A. at the start of March for a weeks holiday. I was wondering if anybody knows of any good venues to catch some good drumming. I was reading an article on PIT in Modern Drummer, does anyone know if they do private lessons, or if there is anywhere else worth a visit (for one or two lessons from somebody really good)? There's not much around where I am in the way of good teachers.
Thanks,

Joe, if you want more drum info on Usenet, check out rec.music.makers.percussion.

Joe, Head up the coast to San Franciso and pick up a copy of BAM (Bay Area Music), past local teachers include Dave Garibaldi (currently touring), Tony Williams (sigh...), John Riley, Brain (Primus) and other greats. Then again, I heard Ginger Baker was offering lessons a few years ago in Malibu. Good Luck Alan R
