Hello guys

I just got my new drum set, and Im so happy I just have to tell everybody. Its a brand new pearl export select 7 piece: 2x 22' bass drums, 10' & 12' toms, 16' & 18' floor toms and 14' snare (I also have a 14' mounted tom which I dont use cause it just came with the original setup). I also got Sabian cymbals, AA Rock Series: two crashes 18 and 17, and 20 ride, and 14 sizzle hi-hats. Now I got to learn how to play. I already know how to play the Chilli Peppers Californication and Silverchairs Anthem for the year 2000, which are probably the easiest tunes to play, you guys are probably laughing, but Im going to learn and hopefully you guys can help me along the way.

First off, my snare drum is ringing when i hit my toms or bass, ive tried tightening and untightening the snare wires, but to no avail.

Secondly, with what should I clean my sabian cymbals with? can I use home detergents to clean them?

Can anybody guess whos drum setup Im copying? He doesnt play Pearl.

*Great I got a seven pc. cobalt mist export set I use for the clubs, fine kit, Welcome to the club!.A snare drum is suppose to ring somewhat, when you play live it's hardly noticeable, you'll get used to it, if it's too bad, loosen the top head slightly,or get a zero ring at your local music store.

Two places you need to go: RMMP newsgroup, news:rec.music.makers.percussion , which is a much more organized and extensive group than this one; and to the RMMP FAQ, where your question about snare drum ring will be answered.

Welcome to the group! I've only been playing for a short time, but I already know the key to rock drumming! I usually charge for this, but for you I'll make an exeption! It's called 4/4 time. It's counted like this........... 1 an 2 an 3 an 4 an 1 an 2 an 3 an 4 an 1 an 2 an 3 an 4 an 1 ect... you get the idea. No need for a standing ovation everyone! I know, my knowlege impresses all of you to the point of silence.
