Hi guys & gals, I play a Pearl Export kit (yeah I know but it was all I could afford at the time) any-way every time I play after about half an hour one of the snare lugs comes loose, so loose that it just dangles around hanging. I always try to tune the drums as best I can before I play and I'm not exactly sure if it's always the same one either, but I know they're all tight when I start playing. Any ideas why this would happen ?

Do you mean the LUG (The metal bumps screwed to the drum shell) comes loose or do you mean the TENSION RODS (the bolt you put your drumkey on)? If it's the Lug, you need to put loctite on the screws that fasten it to the shell.
If you are talking about the tension rod loosening itself up, well, that is a common problem and you can buy these little plastic thingies you press on the square heads to keep them from turning. There are other inventions you can buy as well but the plastic things work as good as any.

Yeah sorry dudes I meant tension rod *not* lug. Spot on Soulbelly, I'm hitting the hoop a bit because of the angle the snare's on and that's right where the rod is coming loose. I'll adjust the angle a bit. Thanks heaps and thanks also to Benj for his reply
