I'm left handed, do I have to buy a left handed double bass pedal, or do most of them have the capability of being assembled 'backwards'? I feel stupid asking this question because I've never seen a left handed double bass pedal. I feel like I'm asking about left handed screwdrivers or something.

Thanks for any comments.

I think all you would have to do is unscrew the beaters from the right pedal and screw them in the left one, I don't think it should be a problem.

I think you need a special bass-drum for left handed people.

I have an old double bass pedal and the right pedal (in front of the bassdrum) has a mechanism at its left where the extra pedal is attached to. The right pedal is very different from the left in that it has two beaters moving independantly. The left pedal only has one moving part. You can disassemble the twin-pedal and use it as two seperate plain pedals.

But maybe there are twin-pedals that can be reversed.
