Does anyone know of a metronome where you can choose the voice of the click? I'm looking for a low-pitched cowbell sound for the click, and all the metronomes I can find, even the fancy high priced ones, do not have this sound. The Dr. Rhythm has 2 high pitched clicks that grate on my ear drums (they have managed to find a frequency that is actually physically painful to listen to), and a female voice that makes me want to kill people.
I realize that I may have to get a drum machine if no metronome can give me the click voice I need, or allow me to create my own. If that is the case, can anyone recommend an inexpensive drum machine for this purpose? (Although I still hold out hope for a metronome with a cowbell click voice.)
Thanks,

I usually just run the output of my cheap quartz metronome into an input on my electronic drum brain for this, then set it up for whatever I want it to be (usually tambourine in my case). Works like a champ.

I use an old Yamaha RX17 drum machine. It has a very nice cowbwll sound - not liable to force you to violence - and was cheap since it is way out of date. Its perfect for drummers who just want a click.

I don't know what your budget is, but the last I checked with Musician Friend, Dr-770 Rhythm was in the upper range of $300, Dr. Beat is about $170 (I don't know how many different sounds it has but I doubt it has a cowbell sound) and Tama's Rhythm Watch is about $100 but it has only two pretty undistinguished BEEP sounds to choose from. For $150 you can get a Zoom Rhythm Trak 123 that will give you all the possible sounds you can imagine and you can program up to 99 songs in different time signatures and tempos. It also has a bass track so you program and play along to you own bassline. Check it out it's a pretty neat little machine

Thats just like mine, I'm very happy with it! It has its own built-in amp and headphones socket so you can practice at home very well. If you want it loud you'd need a small amp.

Hi All ,
Anybody here heard of a Trinome ? I recently read about such a device which is basically a metro but can play three tempos at once. Apparently tabla players use them. Would very much like to track one down.
Any help / comments greatly recieved.
