I own a Pearl EX ruby fade drum set, the shells are poplar. On the bass drum i got a clear remo power sonic 22" bass head but thing is that if you put the patch on it , it messes up your sound, i would recommend buying the Evans head with the internal rings, a much better sound. Now on the 10x8 i got a remo powerstroke 3, in which in deed i don't like at all, it makes my sound fell to dampened when i play. now on the 12x9 i got Remo pinstripe which can give no overtone when tune fairly low pitched, but thing is that when i want to do a roll on them or start with the 12x9 tom and it sucks. Well on the 14x11 i got the Original pearl protone head, which if you add Remo muffle to it, it sounds terrific, but the point is that i need to completly get rid of old and give it a makeover from top to bottom, i want my drum to look and sound professional and have everything in order and upgrade to the heads standards

There is your " Problem " Right the Head you are using on it ...Please check my drum's out on here ...See what you think about it ..Yes the DEADRING"S are good to put on your tom and snare...Hell' You make your own rings the same thing what you buye off ebay or your close music store ....Save your old head's if there in pretty good shape ,.Then start cutting your rings out .Save money and time ??

Ring Muffle ...LOL 'I wouldn't have then {Sound's} like shit ...I use to use them a long time ago ..When they first came out with them in the late 70's and 80's ..Take's the sound away from your Bass drum ...Ring's or Muffl on your snare drum .I would use them on that ?
