Muffling the base of a late 80's Ludwig Rocker Kit

Hi all
The base of the This Ludwig kit I came across is muffled like I muffle all my bases (I like a dead controlled soud from the base without the overtones) but I just can't seem to get it with this drum... any ideas on how I can muffle it?

What did you try till now? Have you done the felt strips on front and back?

Cut out Dead ringer's drum heads alway's work's

In the bass drum ...Or change's your drum head's to a diffrent look and feel and sound "!!

Many ways you can tune a head make it come out ""Just" right ..For the sound you are looking for ....High , Mid , Low ?

To high ...sound's like crap, Mid sound ''YOu can juge that , To low " Nott {enough} tunning ::
