Yeah, buy a proper drum kit and some more cymbals ; )

When you say 2 cymbals, are these hi hat cymbals? The basic requirement is usually hi hats, ride and one crash cymbal.

Obviously, you will have to make do with what you have got if you can't manage to get any more at the moment. .I would suggest finding a good tutor in your area, regular practice, and listening to lots of music.

Quite good, a good starter set I think. Try to buy a second bass drum or a double bass pedal, it's really cool to rumble around

/|/3C, played a DBD once..

There really isn't any need to have a lot of cymbals. Look at jazz drummers. It's sort of a stereotype.. but most of them don't have much more than a 4 peice kit with hi-hats, crash and ride.. if even that. And look at how much they can do! Just learn how to get independence between all the limbs. Practise makes perfect, and a good start is to listen to currently released pop music like 3 Doors Down or Nine Days or anything along that line. Based around a basic rock beat or slight variation.

Find a good teacher, practice your butt off, listen to as many good musicians as possible.

Good Luck, and welcome to the club.

I feel that its enough. Any more really are for variations or different sounds in a song. I am sure that I could get through a night at the bar playing with a 4 peice kit, RC, Crash and hi-hat. And if you are starting off, it's best to keep it simple so as to not confuse your brain. I also don't know what the point of having a million cymbals is unless you can use them? Most beginners have no need for 8 crashes, 2 hi-hats, 3 rides, 6 splashes and 2 china boys.

Heh I don't like lars, What are rudiments? There's nothing you can do that can't be done, Nothing you can sing, that can be sung Theres nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game, Its easy Nothing you can make that can be made No one you can save that can't be saved, its easy
