Is this possible or does it destroy the drum sound? I was just thinking about painting mine... I wanted to make it a half-moon kind of thing, like the Phoenix Coyotes thing. (I got the idea when sitting at my kit and the bottom of the toms made it look like a half moon) I was thinking of possibly buying clear skins and painting the bottom of the top skin. Will this work?

better yet, take your design to a sign-printing shop and have them silk-screen it on there. There will definately be some change in the sound of the head, but not as much with silk-screening as with any other type of painting procedure.
