I am seeking any information on an old cymbal I have. It is an 11' with pastie and ludwig stamped on it, it also says medium. I am wondering what kind of cymbal this sounds like and why it has ludwig and pastie on it. Any information about this cymbal would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Yes, I have pastie cymbals as well. I mean, dammit, I told them to stay out of my stash, but do they ever listen? no, of course not.

Actually, my guess is that it was a promo cymbal that came with a set at one time or another from the good people at Ludwig and Paiste. At 11' it could very well be a tiny crash or a splash. If it's still in good shape, try hitting it and if it sounds good, keep it. If not, it will make a wonderful hors d'oeuvre platter / golf target.

At one time Ludwig was the only company in America that distributed Piaste cymbals. So, there should be a number of cymbals to be found that have that logo on them!

Hey Jim,

Well I got to be the 1st to admit after playing drums for 43yrs. that I never knew that Ludwig had ever distributed Paiste cymbals! Thank's for the education!

Later,

Tim

Hey kkrish,

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had the cymbal and where did you get it?

Thank's Man,

Tim
