Hi all,
Due to some reasons I can only play at home and that's a real problem. Drums are loud. Can anyone tell me how I can play more silently without hitting softer??? I don't have room for isolation!
And can anyone tell me where i can find some resources on 'Heave Metal Drumming'?
Thx alot.
PS: Could you mail it too me too, I sometimes forget to check the newsgroups.
Big Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Hey!! I'll tell you how to play a bit quieter buddy!! Use brushes. If this is too quiet, or a bit of an inconvenience, buy a pair or two of PRO MARK RODS, they come in different thicknesses. They are really small, thin sticks tied together, and are adjustable for different sound styles. Hope you try it out.

However, multi-doweled sticks are dangerous for one's eyes. More than once I have seen the dowels break (which is very easy to do) and the pieces just go flying. These things tend to 'shred' more than regular sticks when they break, so often many small parts get hurled everywhere.
Vater makes a pair called Acoustix that are multi-doweled sticks that have a layer of plastic covering the dowels, protecting them from cymbal edges and rims, which can easily take a single dowel apart.
Even then, I am not a big fan of these kinds of sticks.

I was resently looking in a Interstate Music Catolog and I noticed that there was someitnh that would fit this Perfect. They have a special item called a Silent Tip. They are little rubber boots that fit over the tips of the sticks. I dont know how durable they would be but they arent exacly expensive. They are 5.68 for a pair. And that they are also advertised for is an instant drumming pad. It gives the feel of a real drum.
