Let me see if i can make this clear via text and no pickys.
Get stick to rest at the base of your two victory fingers ( or whatever you call them) tip of stick facing away from you.
With the two fingers, grab the stick about 5 to 6 inches up and let the stick drop down to your wrist.
Now comes the bit you need to practise.
Its all in the wrist. Sort of twist your wrist until the stick moves around. Try it you'll see what i mean.
The stick moving and the timing of your wrist will make the stick spin.
Watch out though. The stick will walk down towards the bottom of the stick. When it feels out of balance stop and grab the stick.
I hope this helps you some what.
But practise dose make perfect. Dont grip to hard.

Or, do this:
Hold between index and middle finger, tip facing up Move index up and away from you, and hook your ring finger round the top The stick tip will move away from you. let go with your index The stick will swing around Hook your index under the stick repeat.
This will make your hand creep up the stick, so use your pinky in the same way to move it back down. Or you can sort of let the stick slip, so you don't have to.

Finally! A straight-forward answer!
However, as far as I can see this technique would only work if my palm is facing up. I've seen it done with the palm facing forward (away from me). Is it done using the same technique?

It's also a great exercise for strengthening your fingers. Try doing it between other fingers (it's really hard, i know), and don't forget to work on both hands. Hopefully, you can alleviate the slipping when your hands get stronger and it becomes easier.
