I was looking at getting a drum package but now I think I may concentrate my main money on getting a nice bas mic and nice snare mic (looking at an SM57 for snare) and then get a drum package at a local store wthat has 3 tom mics and buy 2 or 3 condensors. Anyway.. I'm looking at Bass drum mics. I have come down to these 2 mic. the shure Beta 52 and teh AKG D-112. I have no stores that sell these in my area and I'm wondering which sounds better? the AKG has that 'football' shape I've seen in a lot of other bass drum mics so I'm wondering if that has somethign to do with the sound or not. I found both of these on Ebay for around 100 bucks. Or is there another mic that is better than both of these? thanks a lot -Slick Nick
