Hey Guys

Anyone had any experience with Sleishman Drums. I have heard they are the greatest kits ever.

Can anyone tell me anything about them.

I would say that they sound pretty good, but nothing that blows the other big guys out of the water. They are extremely expensive, and the suspension system makes head changes very time consuming and frustrating. They're also very heavy due to the amount of metal.

Bottom line- probably nice for a studio kit, but there are more practical

Any major brand......will keep up.....they are a good drum.....but so at the rest.....which is better.ford or chevy....depends on what you like and how much you've been brainwashed.....keep an open mind....you will find good in them all....

Is that from any experience playing them ?

The price isn't that expensive ie compares with other pro setups. I was looking for someone who had played a Sleishman kit or owned one. The concept of them sounds great. Don SLeishman actually invented the double bass pedal.

Yes

It IS a good concept, but not practical unless, as I said, they're a studio kit. How much resonance do you really need? I mean have you ever actually played a live show? C'mon! all you hear is stick attacks unless you have a killer sound system.

For the average joe, I really think it's a waste moeny and weight. Plus, as I said before, head changes are a bitch.

I have a set of Sleishmans, with maple shells and Pearl hardware. They sound absolutely brilliant compared to my previous kits and I won't ever think of buying any other type of drum again, no matter how endorsed they are. The Sleishmans are super responsive and they are really easy to tune. I've got a few (respectful) disagreements with what people have been saying here. They are not heavy at all, in fact my 22" kick is the lightest kick I've ever owned, when I first picked it up I felt a little bit ripped off to be honest! Secondly, changing heads is as simple as with 'lugged' drums.
And did I mention that they are really easy to tune? The ring around the shell acts like a Timpani ring, so when you want to pitch them higher/lower, you only need to turn one tuning post (once you have the desired tone). They are really good drums.

I think the photo I'm trying to upload is too big, my camera is set on a low MP and it's still not working.
I think I'll just go practice some single stroke rolls...

Did you know you can resize your photos for free online? There are literally tens of sites providing that service for free. One of those tens is for example:
