I am quite new to drumming, and am finding out that there are different thicknesses to the sticks - and am wondering if it is just a matter of personal preference or if different thickness sticks are used for different styles of music or drumming?
Thanks

I would reither check out the drum stick's out at your loca Music store's to see what will fit you the "Best" in the feel of your stick's

There all kind's of brands out there .But you have to choose what kind of {Thickin's } you are looking for ...

Me :: Play with old brand ..Is ProMark's ..

You may like something a little diffrent .I don't know ..Just check around to see what you come up with !!

Something to think about if you don't know already and that is that being a promark fan myself that drumsticks come in 3 types of wood and that is oak, hickory and rock maple. Now they may be other types of wood that I don't know about but I do know about these for a fact. Maple is lighter than hickory and hickory is lighter than oak. I personaly prefer oak because to me they are more durable and longer lasting. But like you said it is a personal preference. Hope this helps!
