Might be Accupad? Regardless though, you can pretty much use any trigger pad for any use, since they're all basically just a piezo transducer ($1.50 at radio shack) slapped on the back of plywood (simmons) or more recently plastic with a rubber coating, or below a rubber 'nub' touching the middle of a mesh head. Personally, I don't understand why trigger pads are so expensive, it's still just a piezo, and they're dirt cheap.

What are triggers used for in a live situation?

I see some drummers use triggers and also mic their kits. Why?

Guys use triggers to mix the acoustic sound of the drum with electronic sounds from sound modules. A Guy I know, (Laurie Jenkins), plays for Heather Nova - he's a lovely player on a straight kit, but he was required to render electronic sounds as well and he uses triggers as mentioned above.. As if Drummers didn't have enough to do!! Best Eddie Green

My drumming idol, Eric Singer, uses triggers but I can't work out why. Listening to live bootlegs it sounds as if the kit is acoustic.

Suggestions?

The reason for all the questions is because I am trying to work out if they are for me, if they can give me another dimension to my drumming.
