I wanted to put the word out on a guy who is selling bogus Gretsch parts on Ebay. His Ebay name is wormco and his name is Jeremy J Marusek. He is out of Northhamptom MA. I can give you his phone # if you need it. Go to this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& item=1447149686. As soon as I got the lugs from him I found that all but 8 were cheap Japanese knock offs that ANYONE could see were not legit. I contacted him about it and he himmed and hawed but gave me a partial refund, but FAR from what I was owed. I kept 8 large lugs and had not tried to use them until yesterday. These look identical to Gretsch's large lugs, but they have NO threading in the posts where a screw could go and they have an odd numbering inside when you take the springs out. The springs and lug nuts do not fit other Gretsch lugs either. This clown is now claiming that I am lying and is refusing to give me my money back. I have begun proceedings with Ebay and will also contact the FBI as it is a Federal Crime to pass counterfeit products. ANYONE who deals on Ebay needs to remember this guy's name. I mistakenly gave him + feedback after his initial refund. This guy needs to be outed. If anyone else has been duped by this guy, let me know ASAP.

Thanks

Rob, FYI,

I think new Gretsch lugs come unthreaded. Gretsch uses self tapping screws. It has been a problem in taking off lugs because the self tapping screw tend to get studk and break off in the lug.

George, I have brand new self tapping screws here from Gretsch and they are NOT going to thread these things. These are garbage. You should see the total fakes that he sold me. The had no insert into the shell at all. I e mailed a photo to Lee Ruff and he said that they were a 60s Japanese Gretsch knock off. This guy just wants to be an asshole. I also have taken lugs off plenty of new Gretsch drums with no problems breaking the bolts off.

George, Just to give it a try, I took some of the self tapping screws and they could not even start on whatever metal is in these things. They also have a screwy spring and lug nut inside that does not work with other large Gretsch lugs. Interesting idea though, thanks.
