i ran across an old review of my old bands cd the other day on a e-zine and it had mentioned about me having not much of dynamics. makes me want to practice more but also to figure out how to play better. i'm a metal drummer but i know the style has the rudiments of other stuff too thanks if anyone can help me with the question. mark

Dynamics...hmmm...Playing quietly and/or powerfully when the music needs it?

I think he was just telling you to take your foot off the gas a bit sometimes.

Here's two cents. Dynamic usually means two things, full of energy, and constantly changing.

Dear Az Hoser the correct spelling is: you're an idiot the correct grammar is: 'as if you were in an arena' Sue can get more change, but where can you get more brains?

Can anybody guess what DDSD stands for?

Michael HInton Musicality, Precision, Sensitivity. Takes all three.. Thats dynamics. Bach never wrote a dynamic (almost never) why? Because he expected musicians to always be using the above three elements in the equation of good music making. Visit my site at www.drummedicine.com to learn more. Sincerely, Michael Hinton MA Juilliard. You can also find me at the official Grateful Dead website i.e. Mickey Hart.
