I'm considering purchasing a Yamaha HipGig set. I'm looking for first-hand experiences with the kit(i.e. sound quality, durability, situations used in, etc.)

Hi, a guy over here in the uk (Mark Mondeisier) used on for the first time in a clinic I saw about 7-8 months ago.. Since then he hasn't let go... He's used it for all his live performances since!( As far as i know!).. He's just finished a whole jazz series on uk tv and he used the kit for the whole series. He also did a duet with Gary Husband (Ex Level 42?!?) and he also used the HipGig!! (if you dont know who Gary is, he was the drummer for the support band when Dave Weckl played here in the uk a few months ago.!)
The sound is great for such a small kit, but you can tell by the price tag the Yamaha have put a lot of thought and technology into this baby... I'd get one myself but I cant justify it as I'm not doing any live work!
